Statistics and Data Science Track

Program Description

This track leads to a Master of Science degree in Statistics and Data Science at UTSA. In this age of advanced technology, there is an increasing demand for trained individuals who understand the nature of designing experiments, making predictions and forecasts, and analyzing large complex data sets. Prepare for a career as a statistician or data scientist in government, industry or academia. Pursue your doctoral studies in statistics or a related field with the MS in Statistics and Data Science. Our 33-credit hour STEM-designated program will provide you with knowledge of a broad range of applied statistical methods and computational tools.

Graduate Admission requirements vary by program. Please check your individual degree program for more details.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
  • 1-Semester Pathway: TOEFL iBT 71 or equivalent
  • 2-Semester Pathway: TOEFL iBT 61 or equivalent

To apply for the Graduate Pathway, you must submit the following:

  • Graduate School Application: 2023-2024 and 2024-2025
  • Non-Refundable Application Fee: $90
  • Official TOEFL / IELTS Test Scores / Duolingo
  • Passport & Confirmation of Financial Resources (after program admission)
