*Differential Tuition is charged by the college—in addition to the university's base tuition—to support additional services and programming for students in that college. It also addresses higher instructional costs associated with certain fields of study. Three UTSA academic colleges currently have differential tuition rates: Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design $61 per credit, Alvarez College of Business $142 per credit, College of Science $55 per credit. The approximate cost includes the differential tuition for the Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design.

**The UT System SHIP is administered by Academic Health Plans with coverage provided by Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Texas. The UT System requires all international students holding an F1, F2, J1 or J2 visa to maintain medical, evacuation and repatriation insurance while enrolled at any UT System institution. Insurance Cost: All new students entering Fall and Summer are subject to the one-month supplemental insurance. The Fall supplement dates are 08/01-08/23 and the Summer supplement dates are 05/01-05/24. The insurance fee for Spring & Summer is charged in the Spring tuition and fee bill. Summer insurance is mandatory even if you do not take any summer classes. If you feel like you may qualify for a health insurance waiver review the requirements here.

***Includes housing and meals. Housing estimate based on a shared bedroom dorm on campus. We recommend budgeting around $1,000 per semester for personal expenses.

Proof of Funding 2024-25

US Immigration law requires the University to verify that any student seeking an F-1 visa has sufficient funds to finance their studies for the first year of study. Below you will find the total amount needed to show on a bank statement based on program type, information on funding type and required documentation. The same amount needs to be demonstrated whether the student attends 3, 2 or 1 semester Pathway.
