"While in Taiwan I learned and experienced the culture I’ve always been fascinated with. The study abroad trip has influenced me to go out and discover more of what the world has to offer. I learned all about Taiwan’s indigenous people, concepts of different types of scenery, ideas behind traditional Tai Chi, calligraphy and even how to make boba milk tea. I hope to later revisit Taiwan and teach English as a second language for Chinese students! While we did our day tours it was amazing to finally be in the locations that I was only able to ever see through a computer screen. I felt so happy being able to be somewhere that wasn’t home for once. The ability to also be so immersed in another culture then the one I grew up in was amazing."
