Pre-Departure Orientation
All students at UTSA who participate in a Study Abroad experience (undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral) are required to attend a Pre-Departure Orientation during the semester prior to your term abroad. There are no exceptions.
If you are participating in a UTSA-led program, check with your program leader to determine which orientation is appropriate for your program.
During the Pre-Departure Orientation, you will learn about the following:
- Health and safety issues relevant to your travel
- Social media and website dos and don'ts abroad
- General culture topics
- Administrative items that must be completed before you depart

- Wednesday, October 28, 2026 | 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
- Thursday, November 5, 2026 | 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
- Monday, November 16, 2026 | 1:00 p.m.–3:00 p.m.
- Tuesday, December 1, 2026 | 2:00 p.m.–4:00 p.m.
- Wednesday, December 9, 2026 | 10:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
