Provider Programs
What are provider programs?
Provider programs are coordinated by our partner organizations around the world as part of our effort to offer a greater variety of opportunities to UT San Antonio students. These programs are carefully vetted to ensure that they align with UT San Antonio standards for study abroad. Program costs are set by each provider. The costs vary by the length of the program, location, and cost of living. Programs are available for the summer terms, fall semester, spring semester, or academic year. A wide variety of academic offerings are available across the different programs. It is important to your UT San Antonio degree.
What are premier providers?
UT San Antonio has special agreements with the following program providers:
- AIFS (American Institute for Foreign Studies)
- API (Academic Programs International)
- CEA CAPA (Cultural Experiences Abroad)
- CIEE (Council on International Education Exchange)
- USAC (University Studies Abroad Consortium)
- WorldStrides
Due to their high-quality academic programs, course offerings for all majors, strong risk management protocols, variety of locations offered, and on-site staffing, these providers are considered UT San Antonio's premier providers and are our recommended program options.
UT San Antonio students have access to more scholarship opportunities with premier partners! Through these U.S. based partners, we can offer students over 900 programs in 48 countries, ranging from two weeks up to an academic year.
Reasons to choose a provider:
- Study abroad providers are a great choice due to having access to niche programming not typically offered directly through UT San Antonio. Want to study a specific subject in your dream destination? This may be the route for you!
- You are supported throughout the application process by both UT San Antonio and the provider
- Many providers have on-site staff, so you always have local support!
- Often, providers will have planned excursions so you can travel and meet other students studying abroad!
- If you are receiving academic credit for this program, you can apply your financial aid to this opportunity.
- Most providers have their own scholarships, which you may be able to add on top of any other funding you receive!
- Many program aspects such as housing, excursions, and all educational expenses are covered in the program fee
- Provider programs will assist you with choosing and arranging your housing
Other approved providers that UT San Antonio students may participate in include:
- DIS (Study Abroad in Scandinavia)
- FIE (Foundation for International Education)
- IFSA (Institute for Study Abroad)
- The Intern Group
- Semester at Sea
- SIT (School for International Training)
- SRAS (Study, Research, and Custom Programs Abroad)
- SRISA (Santa Reparta International School of Art)
- University of Minnesota, Learning Abroad Center
It is recommended students consider premier provider options first and then explore other approved options if they are not able to find a program that fits their needs.
