Responsibilities of International Services
Our office is here to support faculty, staff, and departments with all aspects and phases of developing study abroad programs.
Roles of International Services & Study Abroad Office:
- Provide resources to faculty and staff that are related to best practices for developing study abroad programs, including program models, financial aid considerations, and insight into student mobility at UTSA
- Provide direct assistance with developing health/safety/risk plan
- Conduct faculty and staff international Risk Management Training
- Conduct student pre-departure orientation
- Provide training and access to Study Abroad Portal
- Assist with marketing materials used from past trips to help tell the story of your program to prospective participants
- If desired, attend program info sessions
- Advise students on various program options
- Offer guidance, resources, and/or training to departmental staff related to the financial administration of study abroad programs
- While in-country, the Study Abroad Office will serve as the primary point of contact for addressing health, safety, security, and emergencies
- Ensure student compliance with UTSA and UT System travel policies, including registration with On Call International
- If needed, assist with negotiating costs with international partners
- Process all official program agreements with international partners
