Meet our Instructors


Dr. Deukhee Gong is an associate professor at UTSA and a fan of BTS. She loves singing and dancing. Her hobbies include watching Korean dramas and sewing. If you are a K-drama lover, try talking to her with some Korean titles. She will love to talk with you! She even teaches Korean culture using K-drama series and films. She has been at UTSA for 7 years; teaching the Korean language and Korean culture. She is passionate about teaching and caring for her students, and she loves her job.


Hyewon Andie Kim is a senior lecturer of Korean language at the University of Texas at San Antonio and Korean American Cultural Center of San Antonio, with over 10 years of teaching and administrative experience. Having earned her M.A. in Global Korean Studies, concentrates on 'Teaching Korean as a Foreign Language' from Kyung Hee University, Seoul Korea. She joined UTSA as a senior lecturer in 2020, and currently teaches Elementary and Intermediate Korean. It is her primary interest to develop learning tasks and curriculum where students practice conversational speaking and listening skills based on the understanding of Korean culture and history.

  • Monday to Friday from 9 am to 4 pm
    • 9:00 am to 12:00 pm - classes
    • 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm - lunch
    • 1:00 pm to 3:30 pm - cultural activities
  • The schedule may vary on Thursdays because of the field trips
  • The academy will be closed on Monday, May 30, 2022 (Memorial Day)
